Painting Frames "Rose" |
Rust • Serie: Foundry • Width: 28mm • Height: 30mm |
The Rose painting frame from the Foundry series is subtly yet cleverly staged. A simple real wood strip with a width of 28 mm and a height of 30 mm served as the base. For the shape, the designers chose a cuboid, a block of wood arranged at right angles, which convinces with its simplicity. They used extraordinary things in the coloring of Rose. This was titled Rust, a mixture of brown and red that produces the rust tone. But not only the paint itself has the character of corrosion, but also the way in which the paint was applied. Dotted accents of lighter and darker nuances also make the real wooden bar appear like rust on its surface. A narrow, light gray line was drawn on the outer and inner edge, which frames the rusty middle part. The Rose frame seems almost predestined for theme motifs with an industrial character. Carl Grossberg was a gifted industrial painter with pictures of the New Objectivity style. Works by him such as "Oil Refinery", "Jacquard Weaving" or "The Yellow Kettle" are particularly emphasized by Rose. Those who prefer Impressionism will like Claude Monet's “La gare Saint Lazare” series for the Rose frame. |
