| Simple elegance characterizes the real wood frame Mia. The no-frills, three-centimeter-wide frame rail looks as if it were made of real silver. The noble appearance is the result of traditional craftsmanship: The frame builders first apply black poliment to a chalk base, which they then cover with metal leaf using the Schabin technique. The old silver effect is created when they carefully rub the silver overlay onto the poliment. Finally, a wax polish gives the frame its soft shine and ensures lasting durability. Even the back of the frame is considered in the first-class finish and receives an embossing and a black, silk-matte lacquer coating. |
