| The Karolina decorative frame shows itself gracefully in its surface of a matt and shiny mixture. The gold color that the real wood has received is processed in a variety of ways both in the surface structure and in the color design itself. Applied like gold leaf, the plump gold shines primarily from the bulging ornaments. A matt gold, on the other hand, which looks almost like a beige, has been applied in the spaces between the trim, but also on the simple woods. This mix brings liveliness into play and is reinforced by another design element. A deliberate peeling of the paint was achieved here in that it seems that Karolina was born from a long forgotten time. This antique design finds a particularly large number of followers, because Karolina is a perfect companion especially for prints by artists from that era. The framework seems to have been created for works from the Baroque or Rococo periods, for pictures with angelic cherubs, for plump Rubens ladies or for heavenly scenes by Tiepolo. Framed in Karolina, motifs of this kind show all their splendor. Because the main strip, which the designers have given the frame, shows like a putt, with the rounded ornaments adorning the inner part and accompanied by simple strips. |
