The impressive motif of this painting was inspired by the so-called 'Old Masters'. The mountain with the waterfall served as my main source of inspiration. Similar to the artist Bierstadt, who originally painted mountains in Yosemite National Park, I placed the mountain in a completely new environment and added a waterfall. The sky is also the result of my creative imagination. The picture was not simply copied, but influenced by the old masters. The motif impresses with its drama, which is also reflected in the details and the moving clouds. The clarity of the water, on the other hand, has a very calming effect on the viewer and thus provides a pleasant contrast.
The original of this oil painting on canvas dates from 2019 and measures 40 x 50 cm. The painting was created on canvas, canvas that is usually stretched on a wooden stretcher frame.
