Salomon van Ruysdael is a 1600 born Dutch painter. His work "River Landscape with Ferry" is a moving scene with water, animals, cityscape and large merchant ships. Everything here seems to be in motion and full of dynamism. At the same time, with a dynamically moving sky image in the upper third of the picture and lush, green trees, the painter evokes a nature that is not subordinate to man, but appears together with him. Fantastically, the artist knows how to use light and shadow. A barge laden with people and animals sets colorful accents and at the same time reminds of the Noah's Ark. In this picture, the viewer can always go for a walk. Does the roaring cow on the riverbank still want to ride in the boat? Where will the big ships go? You ask yourself questions, want to know more! This riparian landscape shows the everyday life in bright colors, with many (water) animals, sublime places of worship and beautiful nature.
