I was trained in the studio of my father, the painter B.Th. Dietrich-Dirschau, in the beautiful Hanseatic city of Lübeck. This makes me one of the last of my kind, because there are hardly any studios left that offer training. Very early I went on "wanderings" and could see half of the world. The Easter Island and the cultures around the Mediterranean, preferably Turkey, found my special interest. I have had more solo exhibitions and participations than I can list here, pictures and other works of mine are represented on all continents. I had and still have my problems with the art business. That is why I preferred not to integrate myself into the mainstream of the art business. Nevertheless I was able to sell my works. Vita brevis - Ars longa - was the motto of my teacher, and this is now also written above my easel. I advise my young colleagues: an unsold work will continue to give you pleasure, a badly sold one, on the other hand, only sadness.
