I was born and grew up in Germany. From 1973 to 1978 I studied graphic design at the universities of applied sciences in Düsseldorf and Münster. Degree: Diplom Designer. From 1979 to 1985 I then studied fine art under Prof Gunther Keusen at the Kunstakademie Münster. After graduating, I took part in several exhibitions and had a solo exhibition at the Münster City Museum.rnDuring my studies I started meditating and in 1980 I was ordained as a Bodhisattva monk by a Japanese Zen master. Alongside my interest in art, my interest in spirituality and Buddhism in particular has taken up a lot of space. In this context, I have written several books on Asian religions. "Confucius and Ancient China", for example, "Shinto and Buddha" or "Neo-Zen". One of my books also deals with art, "The Tao of Art".
